We Democrats want to do several things for our neighbors.

Good things, like end the war in Iraq, guarantee healthcare for all, and help all working families to pursue the American dream.

Unfortunately, here in the IL-8th District, the incumbent Democrat Melissa Bean does not serve these goals with her votes, but sides with Bush and the Republicans on these and other key issues.

The good news is -- people are moving our way! We now have solid majorities for working families, healthcare, and ending the war.

Now, all we need is a new Representative who will join with other Democrats in making these happen. Randi will do this for us.

  Randi & Bill Scheurer have lived in the IL-8th District for 29 years, raising four children (ages 25-33) in their Lake County home.

Randi has a degree in art & education. She is a lifelong artist, and has also taught art to children in school & in her home studio.

Randi is a major force in local peace politics & activism. She held a key role in the historic 2004 & 2006 IL-8th District peace campaigns that got over 15,000 signatures and 5% of the vote to establish ballot access for Congressional peace candidates in 2008 and beyond.

Two of their children have served in the military (Army and Marines), including tours in Okinawa, Kuwait, and Iraq. Their youngest son recently spent a year deployed in Iraq. Randi & Bill are members of Military Families Speak Out, over 3,400 military families for peace.
